10 cases. 100 dinosaur suspects. One culprit every time, and a secret code to check the answer. Your 7-to-10-year-old becomes the detective.
Welcome to Fern Valley, where 100 dinosaurs live and every one of them says "It wasn't me!" In each case, one of them did it. Kids read the clues, study the photos, rule out suspects one by one and name the guilty dinosaur. No cards, no board, no setup. Just the book and a pencil.
How the game works
Round 1: Look at the photos. Is the dinosaur standing, lying down or head down? By the river or in the forest? Is it next to an egg, a fern or a bone? Is its mouth open? Kids check all 100 suspect pages and keep only the dinosaurs that match every photo clue.
Round 2: Read the files. Favorite snack, most active time, biggest fear and size narrow the list down to one culprit.
Check the answer. Every culprit has a secret claw code. The codes are printed upside down, so nobody spoils a case by accident.
One culprit, always
Every case has exactly one solution. Every clue uses the same words as the picture guide inside the book, so kids always know what to look for. When only one dinosaur is left, they are right, and the claw code proves it. No guessing, no "it could be either one."
10 cases, 3 levels
Cases 1 to 4 are easy: 3 photo clues and 1 file clue. Cases 5 to 7 add tricky "NOT" clues. Cases 8 to 10 ask kids to read every word. A guided practice case teaches the rules first, step by step. From a stomped fern patch to a stolen egg, muddy footprints and a roar at midnight, each case is short, funny and fair.

A note for grown-ups
No knowledge of dinosaurs is needed. Every rule is explained with pictures, and the practice case walks your child through Round 1 and Round 2 before the real cases begin. Kids write in pencil, so they can erase and play again. The dinosaur pictures are imagined reconstructions: nobody knows the true colors of most dinosaurs. Reading level: ages 7 to 10, grades 2 to 5.
Add it to your cart and open Case 01 tonight. The culprit is waiting.
